Community Service Obligation (CSO) wholesalers believe they will be able to meet their supply commitments on April 1, despite an expected surge in orders on the day.
The National Pharmaceutical Services Association (NPSA), which represents CSO wholesalers - excluding API – said it members were confident they could meet any increased demand for supplies resulting from the impact of price disclosure reforms, which come into force from 1 April.
As previously reported by Pharmacy News, the value of stock included in the 1 April round of price disclosure will drop overnight.
Patrick Davies, NPSA president, said the association believed the infrastructure and redundancy arrangements established under the CSO would minimise the impact of the reforms on community pharmacists.
